Biographical note: John was educated at
The University of Queensland, obtaining a PhD in 1973.
He is a founding director of
OPCOM Pty.Ltd.,
a company which specialises in Operations Research and technical computing.
As well, he holds a fractional appointment as Associate Professor
in the
Department of Mathematics at
The University of Queensland.
John has been closely involved with all aspects of OPCOM's projects,
relating to applications of optimisation techniques
to industrial resource allocation and scheduling.
He has published widely in the area of
practical applications of
Operations Research,
supervised graduate students in this area,
and has been an invited speaker at national and international conferences
on industrial research and mathematics.
