Mathematics
in Hong Kong / China: Improving on being first in PISA
Students in Hong Kong and China
consistently perform at the highest level in mathematics as indicated
by PISA/TIMMS assessments. However, Hong Kong is not complacent.
The world is changing and so is Hong Kong education. It is revamping
its curriculum and assessment approaches so that all students
have a strong mathematics foundation to support their learning.
While we can learn from other cultures and systems, the importance
of context must not be underestimated.
