Getting to Macquarie University from the City by Train and Bus:
There are essentially three ways:
By bus 288, 290 or 292 from Bus Stand C outside the Queen Victoria Building (see map). For a timetable containing information for these three lines, please click here. Of these, bus 288 comes via the Freeway and should be faster. For a timetable of bus 288, please click here. |
By train on the North Shore Line to Chatswood Station, then by bus 545 that runs between Chatswood and Parramatta. For a timetable of bus 545, please click here. |
By train on the Northern Line to Epping Station, then by bus 288, 290, 295 or 296. For a timetable containing information for these four lines, please click here. |
If you wish to go to Dunmore Lang College or to the Travelodge, then please get off at the Macquarie University stop, on University Avenue if you come from the City directly by bus or from Chatswood, and on Macquarie Drive if you come from Epping. For a campus map, please click here.
Arriving at Sydney Airport:
Taxis from the Airport will cost roughly $80, but this is a good and efficient way if you travel in a group of three or four. Alternatively, you may take the train into the City. For information on the Airport Train Link, please click here.
If you plan to transfer to another train to Chatswood or Epping, then please change at Central Station. If you wish to take the bus directly from the Queen Victoria Building, then you will need to get to Town Hall Station. Follow the directions given above on how to get to the University from the City by train and bus.

Macquarie University Campus:

All the Buildings on Campus have a code name such as E7A, C5C or W5B. The first letter is usually E, C or W, denoting respectively East, Central and West. Occasionally, E runs over into F, and W runs over into X or even Y. The middle number gives some indication of where the building is in the north-south direction, with a lower number denoting south and a higher number denoting north. The last letter identifies the different buildings that share the same first letter and middle number.
The Travelodge is located at E11A, on the north eastern corner of the campus. Dunmore Lang College does not have a code, as it is not officially part of the University. You can find it near the south eastern corner of the University.
Airport Transfer on Friday:
For those who have indicated that they wish to take advantage of the free airport transfer on Friday afternoon, a coach has been hired to depart from the Travelodge some time between 3pm and 4pm. There are a few places still available. If you require this service, we shall make it available until no more seats are available on the bus. Please let the Conference Organizers know if you did not indicate this in your registration form.
